Life Sciences Long-Term Substitute Teacher
Blooming Prairie Public Schools is accepting applications for a Life Sciences Long-Term Substitute Teacher starting early September for approximately nine weeks.

This position provides an opportunity to work with students in the studies of life science to gain a deeper understanding of how living organisms function from the molecular level to complete organism and how they interact with other organisms as well as the world around them.

The successful candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in education with a focus in Biology or related science field (MN teaching licenses 9-12 Life Science and 5-8 General Science).

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the subject matter through effective teaching practices, with expectations of high student achievement
  • Instruct 7th grade Life Science, Biology, and Anatomy & Physiology.
  • Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments.
  • Providing extra support outside of classroom time when needed.
  • Developing science labs and activities to support a deeper understanding of content knowledge.
  • Build relationships with students to understand how best to serve their needs in the classroom.
  • Foster and manage a safe, positive, and respectful learning environment for the purpose of promoting effective student behavior and success.
  • Differentiate classroom material to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Communicate and collaborate with parents and the school community for the purpose of fostering individual student success and growth while engaging families.
  • Maintain appropriate grades, assessment, and other student records as determined by established district procedures regarding the grading process.

Elementary Paraprofessional
Blooming Prairie Public Schools is accepting applications for an elementary paraprofessional at Blooming Prairie Elementary School. Each day that students are in attendance throughout the school year will be working days with hours from approximately 7:50 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The position will begin late August.
